10 Bible verses for Back-to-school

So, Tuesday’s the big day – Back to school for the pupils of Bavaria!

On this occasion I wanted to share some bible verses I thought appropriate – verses that have encouraged and challenged me. I hope they will accompany you and me through the next school year; and if you want to, you can choose one verse that speaks to you the most and memorize it, so you can think of it when you come upon a difficult situation in school.

Remember: No matter what – God loves you!

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Phil 4:6-7)

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. (1 Cor 10:13)

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but the spirit of power and love and self-discipline. (2 Tim 1:7)

In God I trust and am not afraid. What can man do to me? (Ps 56:11)

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. (Jos 1:9)

He gives strength to the weary
    and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
    and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
    they will run and not grow weary,
    they will walk and not be faint. (Isa 40:29-31)

Above all else, guard your heart,
    for everything you do flows from it.
Keep your mouth free of perversity;
    keep corrupt talk far from your lips.
Let your eyes look straight ahead;
    fix your gaze directly before you. (Prov 4:23-25)

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in behavior, in love, in faith and in purity. (1 Tim 4:12)

The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all. (Ps 34:19)

I can do all things through him who gives me strength. (Phil 4:13)
